Cameras we chased after in the past years---- Born for Olympic games

Summer Olympics (hereinafter referred to as Summer Games) and Winter Olympic Games (hereinafter referred to as the Winter Olympics), held every four years,  will  be a great “exam of college entrance” for those camera manufacturers. Every time on the eve of the Olympic Games, Nikon and Canon will release flagship-level product, regarding the Olympic Games as the best stage to show their strength. The dawn of the digital era: Sydney Summer Olympic Games in 2000
In the start year of the 21st century, digital cameras welcomed their era of dawn. If  we say that in the ex-digital-era of 1990s, digital cameras that released by Nikon and Canon somehow were mean for trial. Then in 2000, Nikon and Canon have launched a series of truly practical digital SLR cameras.

  Sydney Summer Olympic Games in 2000 was the first one since we set our step into 21st century. Bid farewell to the war-torn 20th century, mankind is much longing for peace at the beginning of a new century. Under this background, the 27th Summer Olympic Games was held in Sydney, Australia on September 15 to October 1, 2000.

Nikon D1: The first real digital SLR camera of Nikon
   On June 15, 1999, Nikon released the first real digital SLR camera - D1. Although several trail DLSR cameras were launched under the cooperation of Kodak, Fuji and Nikon, Nikon D1 is the real one that released by Nikon itself.


　　If we look at Nikon D1 with today's perspective, it is a bit "disappointing." D1 comes with a APS-C sensor with approximately 2.66 million effective pixel, the maximum resolution is only 2000 × 1312. Even the pocket cameras in the same time has higher pixel than D1. Focusing systems adopted Multi-CAM 300 AF system with five phase difference detection AF. Even with today's perspective, the shutter system with D1 is incomparable by DSLR camera today. D1 highest shutter speed is up to 1/16000 sec and flash sync speed is up to 1/500 sec.\
